I made my living in finance, but when I retired I decided to take a part-time job at a local bakery as a cake decorator.
I’ve always been a busy person and great at multi-tasking so when I retired I knew I couldn’t just sit around fishing or working on puzzles. It just so happens that the owner of the bakery is a friend that knew my passion for baking behind closed doors.
Working in that environment isn’t as stressful as finance, but it definitely has its moments when we’re pressed for time and have a lot of big orders. I rarely have to man the counter but when I did a few weeks ago I was having trouble hearing one lady’s order. I really had to strain to hear it and had to ask her to repeat some parts.
Later that night when I was telling my wife about it, she suggested I call miracle ear and showed me an online search of hearing locations in PA. I agreed to go to one of them and made an appointment for next week. I hate to admit it, but I think she’s right.
