The loon is the official state bird of Minnesota. I have been trying to get a good picture of a loon every time my hubby and I went fishing. Finally, I got one. The loon was about six feet away from our boat when I took this picture. We were busy fishing and this loon didn't care much that we were getting closer to him. He was minding his own business and so were we. The most fearless loon that we have ever come across.
